Iron Flame
Discover the instant #1 New York Times bestseller! TV series now in development at MGM Amazon Studios with Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society. “The first year claims some of us entirely. The second year strips the rest of our humanity” – Xaden Riorson
Most anticipated that Violet Sorrengail wouldn’t make it through her first year at Basgiath War College – Violet herself included. Yet, Threshing was merely the initial brutal trial designed to eliminate the weak, the unworthy, and the unfortunate.
Now, the true ordeal begins, and Violet is already questioning how she’ll endure it. It’s not solely because it’s exhausting and mercilessly savage, or even because it’s meant to push the riders’ limits of pain beyond reason. It’s also due to the new vice commandant, who has set out to show Violet just how powerless she truly is – unless she chooses to betray the man she loves.
Though Violet’s body may be more fragile and less resilient than her peers, her mind remains sharp, and her spirit unbreakable. Yet, leadership requires relearning the most vital lesson that Basgiath has ever imparted: dragon riders carve their own destiny.
But a fierce will to survive will no longer suffice this year.
Because Violet is aware of the centuries-old secret concealed within Basgiath War College – and in the end, not even dragon fire may be enough to save them all.
The Empyrean series is best enjoyed in order.

truly LOL revisiting my most-viral Goodreads review that still gets me hate to this day – it was a JOKE, Y’ALL!!😂 but also!!! upon my second read this did dip to 4.5⭐️s but I simply refuse to go any lower because I still loved it!!! it just was a tad slow + repetitive! however *~Violet + Xaden 5ever~*

Wow! –
I admit, the pacing was slower than the first but after a second, third. and fourth re-listen (yes I’ve listened 4 times within a week of release) I’ve grown more and more appreciative of the way Yarros has laid out this book. The level of planning, the plot twists, the character building, and angst between our protagonists are nothing short of spectacular. The story is well written with new details standing out each time I re-listened to this book. This world is so captivating and I am all in.

It has been years since I have had a book, no a series, pull me in so deeply with so many varying emotions. Iron Flame is a seamless continuation of the story we have all so lovingly embraced. This is a wild ride of a book that takes us soaring through the eyes and emotions of not only Violet but her dragons and Xaden. I can not wait to watch this series rise to the level of love I know readers will hold it.
“It has been my honor”

I’m actually surprised I finished this audio book, the story is the ONLY thing that kept me listening because the narration was awful. Parts felt like she was reading them for the first time and her voice didn’t convey what was going on. The deep breaths, page turning, mic bumps, long puases, running 9ut of air while in the middle of a sentence, inconsistent voices and tones for characters were driving me crazy throughout! really feel like I would have enjoyed this and the first book more if I had just read them.
