Let me tell you, this book is a twisted and utterly compulsive ride. It's clever, deeply dark, and had me glued to the page. One core story, yet so many perspectives. So many razor-sharp angles to view the truth from. I fell hard for Elston's First Lie Wins, so I was practically buzzing when I got my hands on this early read. I went in with high hopes, and it shattered every one of them in the best way possible.

Camille Bayliss knows her husband Ben is hiding something. He's a meticulous man. Careful. Watchful. Especially of his own wife, tracking her every move, twenty-four seven-a constant source of irritation and dread for Camille. When Camille crosses paths with Aubrey, the two women form an unexpected alliance. Bonded by a shared hunger for answers, with Ben at the mystery's core, they cook up a devious scheme. For twelve critical hours, Aubrey will impersonate Camille-using her car, her cards, her phone-to fabricate a perfect digital alibi. Meanwhile, freed from her electronic leash, Camille will secretly tail her husband to uncover his secrets. It's a brilliant plan. Except for one fatal flaw: Ben turns up savagely murdered. Now both women desperately need an alibi, but only one of them has it...

Anatomy of an Alibi is an intelligently crafted, completely engrossing thriller where certainty is a luxury you never get. The narrative masterfully shifts between multiple viewpoints and timelines. We're not only inside the heads of Camille and Aubrey but also Hank-Ben's legal partner, who has his own massive grievance after learning Ben planned to cut him out of their firm. We even get chilling glimpses into the past from Ben's own perspective. Frankly, most characters here are hard to like, but I found myself warming, ever so slightly, to both Aubrey and Hank. I didn't trust them, but I was rooting for them more than anyone else.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. I was thoroughly captivated. This is a superbly plotted, intricate thriller that hooks you instantly. The characters are flawlessly drawn, wholly believable, and tie the novel's complex threads together beautifully. The pace is relentless from page one, with barely a moment to catch your breath. I loved the stark contrast between the two women: Camille, with her old-money Louisiana power and influence, versus Aubrey's more precarious life in a less glamorous part of town. The dual mystery-hunting Ben's killer while Aubrey searches for her own truth-was expertly handled. The way the plotlines intersected and twisted was pure narrative genius. All in all, this is a twisty, fast-paced, and utterly engrossing read that I loved every second of. Elston has firmly become a must-read author for me, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Highly recommended.
